What is joy, but Soul’s ability to savor and accept what life offers. While the world may seem unjust, favoring few over the many, at its core and by intention, it is but a training ground where all answer to the current evenly, and all rivers flow in the direction of order, balance and symmetry. Stubborn willful resistance to this natural flow will always cause life to take sharp dark turns. When ambitious shortcuts and expecting more for little fall short, it is never the system which has failed, only a misinterpretation of the intention of the process. For the spiritually undeveloped under the weighty veil of victim-consciousness, self-responsibility will remain a foreign and elusive concept beyond comprehension. To even imagine a world where impoverishment and misery were but byproducts of unproductive negative thoughts and actions would be a gulf too far to cross, a truth too burdensome and painful to bear.
For the spiritually mature, eager to leave victimhood behind them, life will begin anew with the unconditional acceptance of self-responsibility. Whether we are thriving, surviving, or suffering, if we want to elevate ourselves and improve our circumstances, it will require a sustained positively charged commitment in thought, word and deed, to listen, then follow the inner guidance offered, to do what is right and in the best interest of all in all situations and circumstances, and to treat others with the respect, dignity and kindness a brother or sister deserves. While learning to accept what we can’t control can be a joyous and liberating experience, learning to control what we can no longer accept is the mark of a master, but only as it pertains to our own personal lives, within our own sphere.
In this world of polarity, we will come to accept that even when we are virtuous, accepting and kind, inevitably there will still be seasons of loss and pain. Yet, even in these difficult times we will find comfort, as the Great Spirit is a sea of mercy in which all are immersed and nourished. Beyond all spiritual gifts of wisdom, guidance, insight, foresight, protection, and abundant opportunities, each soul, in its own time, will rediscover that the greatest treasure one can ever possess is an open-loving heart, for love expressed in subtle, simple and pure ways always connects one to the divine source. With gratitude, let our North Star fix only on what is good, light, gentle, humble and loving, and nothing else, for like heaven, joy is a state of being, an expansive awareness of how precious the gift of life is. Where a life is filled with acceptance, love and joy, there can be no room for darkness!
