Why are we here if not to find ourselves, to discover our passions, and to live a more joyous meaningful life? If we have patterned our lives by the expectations, desires and wishes of what imposing people wanted for us, then we have not been true to ourselves, nor tapped into our true potential and purpose. The only way controlling people can derail our dreams, diminish our self-worth, and dictate our path, is if we let them. Once we become aware and determined to embrace our power, there is no force in any world that can stand in our way. On our path, life must be lived and expressed on our terms, for the freedom to choose how we create and direct our lives is our divine birthright.
Discovering one’s purpose is not some secret or complicated illusive mystery. We need look no further than to those creative, constructive and uplifting endeavors that we enjoy. If we have an interest, talent, or a passion, which we have neglected or abandoned in the past because it was considered impractical or unrealistic, know that is never too late. As life is best served through smooth transitions, before jumping with both feet onto a new track, it may be best to first try on a rekindled passion part-time or as a hobby. If our new direction is right for us, we will feel it and know it. Invite the Creative Spirit to guide our steps and take our hand as we embark on this new journey, and remember to be grateful when the universe sends us those inspiring mentors and teachers who are waiting in the wings to assist us.
If we are inspired to build a concrete pond, then build it! If we are inspired to be a baker, then bake; a dancer, then dance; a painter, then paint! If at first our creations are a mess, and we are besieged with setbacks, trust that a challenging steep climb is just part of the process of learning and pursuing one’s purpose. Regardless of outcomes, even if we decide this new pursuit is not for us, there is no failure in trying new things and having new experiences. The greatest, most profound joy is found in the act of doing, in following one’s purpose wherever that may lead, never in having, nor basking in the rewards and praise bestowed on us for completing any particular accomplishment. Give all the love, energy and passion in your entire being to your pursuit, for if you feel inspired, and have a great love for what you are doing, you have found your purpose, and your dreams have already come true!
