Have you ever heard of Animal- Herotober? It’s a month where people of all ages can discover the best ways to help animals.
Jump aboard the “helping animals train” and pick an action to be part of AnimalHerotober from these three easy ways to participate.
Tag Be an Animal Hero/Animal Hero Kids when you post on social media what you are doing to help animals with the hashtag #animalherotober
1. Shop and cook vegan for you, your family, neighbors or coworkers. The single most powerful act to help animals, the earth and your own health is to go vegan.
Check out the free, cooking demo videos of the recipes in “Veganza Animal Heroes Guide to Save Animals and the Earth” here: https://www.animalherokids.org/veganza/
2. Volunteer at your local animal shelter to walk the dogs or make catnip toys for the cats.
First, find out which shelter has the contract with your local government for animal care. This is the shelter that needs your help the most!
Here in Palm Beach County, the Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control on Belvedere Road is where I adopt from – they are always the fullest shelter, and the animals there need your lifesaving help.

3. Sponsor one of our heartwarmingly proactive books for your local library or school. Learning about helping all species of animals, and fostering empathy, are solutions for all species of animals in need. I have received calls from parents of children who are thankful for discovering one of my five books in their local library, when they realize they are not alone in their wish to help animals, and learn what positive steps they can achieve.
