Battered tofu by Veganza from the new Veganza Animal Heroes Guide to Save Animals & the Earth

By Susan Hargreaves Author-Activist-Educator of BEanAnimalHero.org
Hello Happy Herald readers, the happy news this month is you are the first to see one of the new vegan recipes from the new Veganza Animal Heroes Guide to Save Animals & the Earth. It’s delicious crispy battered tofu by Veganza CRISPY BATTERED TOFU Ingredients:

• 3⁄4 cup organic all-purpose flour

• 6 heaping tablespoons nutritional yeast 1⁄2 cup water (approximately)

• 1 teaspoon Savory Sage Seasonings 4-6 splashes Braggs Amino Acids sprinkles of garlic powder

• 1 block extra firm tofu

• enough olive oil to cover bottom of pan Instructions:

Use two wide bowls - can be wide cereal bowls. In one bowl, add the flour, nutritional yeast and seasonings and water a bit at a time, stirring with a fork until the mixture is smooth (with the consistency of a smoothie).

In the other bowl, add the Braggs and nutritional yeast.

Squeeze the water out of the tofu.

Slice it in half with a serrated knife and cut into pieces approximately 3⁄4 inch thick from the two halves. Place the tofu in the Braggs bowl, then the batter bowl and drag it through, coating both sides. Transfer to pan when oil is hot, but not too hot. Flip the tofu with a spatula when one side is golden brown and place it on paper towel right after.

Heat extra virgin olive oil on medium on the stove top in a frying pan. Pan fry and flip when darker.

They can burn quickly or you may have to replenish the olive oil.
