It’s Time to Spring Forward and Get Your Life Refreshed

By David Hall
April represents springtime. Here in South Florida, you may not notice this amazing transformation of seasonal shifts, but take a closer look, and you may see there’s more outdoor activity. The clocks “spring forward.” Nature offers new buds in the trees, different plants coming into bloom, and generally there’s more freshness and more vibrancy in the air. Although South Florida does not see a BIG shift in seasons, April and springtime still symbolize renewal. This month, let’s tackle the idea of clearing your clutter with spring cleaning.

Here are my top 10 tips for clearing clutter with spring cleaning basics.

Follow these tips and experience Spring with a new fresh approach:

1. Open up the blinds and let the cleansing light of the sun fill your home with light and warmth.

2. Open up the windows. How often when I do this in my clients’ homes, they seem amazed, not ever going to open their windows before. Open up and let the fresh air in!

3. Clean the windows. DIY or bring in a pro. Chances are the windows can use refreshing and your views will be shiny clear, elevating your mood and improving your home’s look.

4. Wherever you begin, start simply. Get success under your belt, so you feel more enthusiastic for the next task.

5. Change things up for a fresh new look. New towels, new window treatments, new linens. How about adding a new living element? A new plant, an indoor waterfall, or even a fish tank for fun! Coming up with a fresh look and feel is a great way to awaken your home and therefore yourself.

6. Refresh your closet. What’s wearable, what’s donatable, and what’s replaceable? Taking time with your wardrobe helps you revive your styles, amp up your look, and gets you psyched for eventually going out again in public!

7. Clear out your car. Spring cleaning… starts in the home, sure. But we spend a lot of time in our cars, and yours might need some TLC. Clear the papers, receipts and unnecessary items. Wash it, wax it, and vacuum the interior.

8. Purse and wallet makeover. How often do we rely on these accessories? Yet how little time we take to empty them out and start fresh. Most purses and wallets are overcrowded and super stuffed with unnecessary things. Take the time to organize these tools for better living.

9. Speaking of tools, how many apps on your phone are underused or ignored altogether? Springtime cleaning includes making your smartphone more efficient, tailored more to what you really need and use. Purging old texts and emails clears the clutter as well.

10. Clearing clutter by spring cleaning helps you take renewed pride in your things, elevates your mood, and improves the quality of your life. Use these tips and you’ll soon see shifts in your life, your relationships and your health. It’s truly all connected.

Should you have any questions or have a project you’d like help with, I’m here for you. Local or longdistance, my passion is in helping you with your decluttering and organizing challenges.
